JEE Main 2023 Dress Code and Exam Day Instructions

The following are ten important guidelines for the JEE Main 2023 exam regarding dress code and other instructions for exam day:

  1. Wear open-toed shoes such as slippers or sandals with low heels, and avoid closed footwear like shoes.
  2. Dress in light, half-sleeved clothing (such as a t-shirt), and avoid garments with large buttons. Long sleeves are not allowed.
  3. If you have to wear specific attire for religious or customary reasons, arrive at the exam venue early to undergo mandatory frisking.
  4. Bring a printed copy of your JEE Main admit card, in color and on an A4 size paper, with all details, including your photo and signature, being clearly visible.
  5. Bring a photo ID, photograph, etc. as mentioned on the admit card for verification. Handbags, mobile phones, and any form of communication or electronic devices are not allowed inside the exam center.
  6. You may want to make arrangements for the storage of your personal belongings as some test centers might not have storage spaces.
  7. Avoid wearing caps, dupatta, sunglasses, etc. to the exam venue, and metallic objects including watches are strictly prohibited.
  8. The only exam-related items allowed inside the exam hall are: JEE Main admit card (with self-declaration form, if available), photo ID proof, copy of the same photo used in the application form (to be pasted on attendance sheet), PwD certificate and scribe document (if applicable). Pen and scribble pad will be provided to the candidates.
  9. Personal belongings allowed in the exam hall include water, hand sanitizer, etc. Diabetic candidates can bring edibles as specified on the admit card guidelines.
  10. Be sure to arrive at the exam venue by the reporting time mentioned on the JEE Main admit card, as the exam center gate will be closed once the time has passed and no candidate will be permitted to enter under any circumstances. The printed copy of the admit card and all scribble pages must be dropped in the place provided before leaving the exam hall. Do not bring these pages with you as it may result in disqualification.
