UCEED is a three-hour entrance exam administered in testing facilities. It serves as the gateway to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programs offered by participating institutes, such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. These institutions are renowned for their excellence in design education and offer a world-class learning experience.
But wait, there's more! UCEED also opens doors to "22+ Result Sharing Institutes" where you can explore further design opportunities. Institutes such as World University of Design, Alliance University, RV University, and many others offer admissions based on UCEED scores. Criterion 1: Age Limit
- Candidates belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category should have been born on or after October 1, 1998.
- Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category should have been born on or after October 1, 1993.
Criterion 2: UCEED Qualification
- Candidates must have qualified UCEED 2023 and obtained a rank.
Criterion 3: Qualifying Examination
- Candidates must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2022 or 2023.
- Candidates who appeared for the qualifying examination in 2021 or earlier are not eligible.
Eligibility for Different Streams:
- Science Stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics): Eligible for all five participating institutes.
- Other Streams (Science without Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry, Commerce, Arts & Humanities): Eligible for IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.
- IIITDM Jabalpur: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology required. Arts or Humanities stream not eligible.
- IIT Guwahati: Only Science Stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) eligible.
- Candidates appearing for the Class XII or equivalent examination in 2023 must ensure that their final examination is completed by the application deadline.
- Proof of passing the qualifying examination with the required eligibility must be submitted to the admitting institute by September 30, 2023.
- In case the passing grade is not mentioned on the grade sheet, candidates must obtain a certificate from the board specifying the passing grade and submit it along with the grade sheet.
- The eligibility criteria apply to all applicants, including foreign nationals. Foreign nationals are allotted supernumerary seats with a cap of 10% of the total seats in a program.
- Applications from foreign nationals holding OCI/PIO cards are considered under the OPEN category.
Note: The UCI Committee's decision is final in cases where the qualifying examination board only provides letter grades without mentioning the passing grade.
Starting from UCEED 2024, the question paper will be divided into two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will be a computer-based test consisting of three portions - Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). This section evaluates your analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
Part B, on the other hand, is where your creativity takes center stage. This section lasts for 60 minutes and consists of two questions: one on drawing ability and the other on design aptitude. You will need to showcase your artistic flair and innovative thinking by writing or drawing your responses in the answer book provided by the invigilator. The question will be displayed on the computer screen, challenging you to bring your ideas to life.
