NATA 2021: Latest News, Exam Date, Registration, Syllabus

NATA stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture. This is just a centralized aptitude test for admission to B.Arch course. The NATA exam is conducted for the candidates seeking admission in the 1st year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Programme offered at various Institutes across India.

This test checks the candidate’s aptitude skills in the Architecture related fields, such as drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking. If you are looking to build your career in the field of architecture, then you must opt for NATA as its score is accepted by most of the colleges.

  • The application form for NATA 2021 exam will be available in online mode only. The application submitted by offline using speed post, registered post etc. will be summarily rejected.
  • The NATA exam consists of two parts i.e. Part – A and Part – B. Part A carries multiple choice type questions where Part B is the drawing test.
  • In part B (drawing test), the candidates have to attempt two drawing questions on an A4 size sheet.
  • Clearing NATA does not guarantee the admission to B.Arch course. Many colleges have their additional eligibility criteria with NATA in order to grant the admission.
  • While filling the application form, the candidates have to provide the three choices of exam cities as per their preference.

NATA 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should check the eligibility criteria given below before applying for the NATA 2021 exam

  • The aspirant must have passed 10+2 exam with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Additionally, the candidates should also have aggregate 50% marks at the 10+2 level.
  • The candidates having passed the 10+3 diploma exam with Mathematics as a subject and at least 50% marks in aggregate can also apply.
  • Students going to appear for the qualifying exam in the year 2021 can also apply.
  • The candidates please note that there is no lateral entry admission to B.Arch course is possible.

Note: Please note that NATA 2021 is going to be a qualifying exam for B.Arch admission. So, the reservation policy doesn’t apply to this exam. Regardless of the category, every candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria given above in order to appear for this exam.

NATA 2021 APPLICATION FORM

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is an online mode exam, and its application is released on its official website. Admission authorities have confirmed that the NATA application form will release on the site on the 3rd Week of February. To fill the application form of NATA, a candidate has to first register themselves for the exam by filling the details like their names, valid Email id and mobile number.

 After the registration process, a candidate can proceed to the next stage to enter the personal and academic details. In the very last step of the application process, documents are uploaded by the candidate to proceed to the payment gateway page of the application fees.

NATA 2021 Application Fee

To appear in the examination candidates need to pay a certain amount depending on which category they belong to as Application Fee. Tabulated below is the application fee for the various categories of applicants:

PAYMENT OPTION:

NATA candidate can make their payment by using online services like the debit card, credit card, or net banking. The students can also pay their application fee via Challan at ICICI bank if they are opting for offline services.

NATA 2021 Form Correction

The Council of Architecture (CoA) will allow the candidates to make rectify the mistakes made by them on the NATA 2021 application form, a few days after the conclusion of the online application process for NATA 2021. The candidates will only be given one opportunity to correct their mistakes on the 2021 application forms for NATA exam. Here are some important details regarding NATA 2021 application form correction.

Candidates who apply for NATA will also get an opportunity to correct the information they have filled in while applying online. The steps for form corrections have been mentioned in the pointers below:

  • Candidates will have to create a new ticket on the HelpDesk with the title of “Error Correction:<>”.
  • Candidates will then have to mention the nature of error and correction required.
  • They will also have to attach the scanned copies of the original documents supporting the change one is seeking.
  • It is also advisable for the candidates to contact the exam authority for assistance.

 

NATA 2021 Admit Card

The examination authority will issue the NATA 2021 admit card online tentatively in the first week of April for the first session and fourth week of June for second session mode through the website. Applicants will only be able to download their respective admit cards on entering the Registered ID and Password.

The admit card of NATA 2021 exam will be uploaded on the official website. After downloading the admit card, the candidates should confirm that the photograph and signature are printed on the admit card. Every candidate must carry the admit card along with valid Photo Id proof to the exam

 

How can Candidates Retrieve their NATA ID?

It is to be noted that the candidates who have registered to appear for the NATA entrance can retrieve their Id (If lost) by following certain steps. We have provided the steps in the pointers below:

  • Candidates will have to visit the official website of NATA 2021.
  • There will be an option called “ FInd NATA Candidate ID” on the homepage of the website.
  • Candidates will have to click on the option.
  • Clicking on the option will lead to the opening of dialogue box where the candidates will enter certain details such as roll number of 10th standard, year of passing the secondary level final examination, board name of secondary level etc.
  • Candidates will then have to enter the verification code and then click on “Find Candidate ID”.
  • The candidate id will then be displayed on the screen.

Note: Candidates who lose their password can also set a new one by clicking on the “Forgot Password” link.

 

NATA 2021 EXAM PATTERN

NATA 2021 exam pattern  is mandatory for all the candidates to be known. The NATA 2021 Exam pattern will help them to make the strategic planning of the studies.

  • Parts: The NATA exam paper consists of Part A and Part B Sections.
  • Part A: Part A consists of the General Parts, MCQs and the Mathematics Aptitude questions must be answered through the online mode.
  • Part B: part B is on the Drawing section which made through the paper-based test (Offline).
  • Total Marks: The Online Mode consists of the Total 120 Marks. The offline paper consists of the 80 Marks in each paper.
  • Language of the examination: The paper will be in the English language only.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will be allotted +2 Marks for each right answer.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking scheme in the entrance test.

Syllabus

General Aptitude: Objects, texture related to architecture and built environment, Visualizing different sides of 3D objects, analytical reasoning, general awareness of national/ international architects and famous architectural creations etc.

Drawing Test: Understanding of scale and proportion of objects, Conceptualization and Visualization through structuring objects in memory, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast, Form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumes, Perspective drawing, Sketching of urbanscape and landscape, Common day-to-day life objects like furniture, equipment etc. from memory.

Result :

  • Before the declaration of NATA result 2021, the authorities will release the response sheet of all the candidates.
  • Please note the response sheets will be uploaded only for Part A. The sheets of Part B will not be uploaded.
  • After the publication of the response sheets, the result of NATA 2021 exam will be made available on the official website.
  • The qualify marks will be based on the rule given below:
    • At least 25% marks must have scored in MCQ part (Part A) – 30 out of 120
    • A minimum 25% marks in Drawing port (Part B) – 20 out of 80

Must have secured overall qualifying marks based on the post-exam statistics and the decision of CoA.
