Apart from JoSAA, you can apply to individual state counseling rounds like MH DTE for Maharashtra, DTE MP for Madhya Pradesh, TNEA for Tamil Nadu, AP EAMCET for Andhra Pradesh, etc. The details for these could be accessed from their respective websites.

  • DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR JoSAA 2022 REGISTRATION PROCESS?

No, you don’t have to pay any fees for the JoSAA counseling process.

  • HOW ARE THE SEATS ALLOCATED?

On the basis of JEE Advanced 2022 score and rank, IIT seats are allocated. For NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, your JEE Main 2022 score and rank are taken into consideration.

  • CAN I EDIT MY CHOICES AFTER LOCKING THEM?

Yes, you can ONLY before the choice filling deadline. This means you can change your order preference or add more courses or delete some courses. Once the date has passed you cannot make any changes to it. Refer to www.josaa.nic.in for detailed guidelines about this.

  • I AM UNHAPPY WITH MY ALLOCATED SEAT. I WANT TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT ROUND’S RESULT. HOW DO I GO ABOUT THIS PROCESS?

You can wait for the next round’s result to get your desired college but to be applicable for that process you first need to accept your current seat, upload the required documents and pay the seat acceptance fee. If you fail to do any of the above steps, your seat will be canceled. To be considered for the next round, you need to choose the float/ slide option while accepting a seat in the current round.

  • WHAT IS FLOAT/ SLIDE?

Float: If you want to participate in the subsequent rounds to upgrade your seat while keeping your allocated seat, you should opt for this option.

Slide: If you want to upgrade to a different course within your allocated institute, this is your option.

  • I AM SATISFIED WITH MY SEAT. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO NOW?

Freeze: If you are happy with your allocated seat and do not want to take part in the further counseling process, then you could go for this option.

Note: Once you have chosen the Freeze option while accepting the seat, you can change to the Float/ Slide option afterward.

  • I MISSED ONE OF THE STEPS OF THE JoSAA COUNSELING PROCESS. WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW?

Failure in accepting the seat or uploading the required documents or payment of seat acceptance fees will result in the cancellation of your allocated seat.

  • I GOT UPGRADED DURING ONE OF THE ROUNDS. NOW, I WANT TO GO BACK TO MY PREVIOUS SEAT. HOW DO I GET IT BACK?

You cannot. Once you have been upgraded and accepted a higher seat, your previous seat gets forfeited.

All the best!
