Time management plays an important role in one’s JEE PREPARATION. GOAL SETTING and MONITORING is another important process in JEE PREPARATION. Physics, Chemistry and Maths Study Strategy for IIT JEE 2021

    1. Physics: This is a logical thinking subject; it requires a thorough understanding of fundamental concepts and the application of mathematics to solve problems. Physics relies less on memory and more on applying ideas and concepts to solve problems. Understanding the concepts and solving problems is the key to score well in physics. Master the basics of the subject rather than memorizing the formulas. While preparing, keep your concepts clear before you go for questions. Numerical problems and conceptual questions, both are important for JEE. A Golden rule to master physics in JEE student should dois to Practiceand Practice Problems. The objective is to solve so many questions that you start to anticipate which method would likely work best. With experience, you'll be able to see solutions quickly.

 

    1. Maths: In Mathematics also practice is very important. Formulae should be on your tips. Know every shortcut possible. Mathematics is not just solving; it needs a little visualisation skill too (ex.- graphs and curve sketching).

 

Tip by an IIT Student:"Work on the theory really well. At least understand the basic idea. What are we calculating? Why are we doing so? What is its significance? Where is it applied? A working amount of memory is required to recall the formulas and methods. So, don’t go in with the expectation that everything is just thought and understanding-oriented. You will have to remember bulk of stuff in the beginning. With time it will eject out as a reflex."

 

    1. Chemistry:In Chemistry, the key is understanding and then revising it again and again. Write a summary of important points. Start with the basics and then move ahead with complex concepts. Practice problems each time when you study a topic. Make a separate notebook for named reactions & their mechanism and revise it daily.

  • If student is preparing For Physical Chemistry, Read from NCERT and have your concepts clarified at your coaching institute. To become good at Physical Chemistry you need to develop problem solving skills. Be thorough with all the formulae. You should know all the formulas of chemical bonding, equilibrium, kinetics, radioactivity etc. Solving a lot of problems in Physical Chemistry helps.
  • The concept is different in Inorganic Chemistry, it involves a lot of memorization. Study NCERT properly. Make precise notes for each chapter. You might think it is a waste of time right now to maintain so many notes but they’ll prove indispensable for your JEE revision.
  • Organic chemistryis the conceptual subject. General Organic Chemistry is one of the most important topics in this section. A student cannot ace organic chemistry without understanding the concepts thoroughly. Additionally, students should equally focus on isomerism and effects. Studying these concepts will help solve most questions from organic chemistry. Moreover, students should remember that before beginning to solve questions from organic chemistry, they should completely understand GOC, hydrocarbons, Alcohol, Aldehyde, Amines and Alkyl Halide.
  • While preparing for Physics,the most common mistake students make is that they either ignore numericals or the theory part of a chapter. Both numericals and theory of a topic are interlinked and often, JEE Main exams contain questions which are numerical but require a theoretical concept to solve the problem. Keep practicing both theoretical and numerical methods simultaneously to help you have a better understanding of the topic and variations involved within.
  • For preparing Mathematics,student should list down all the equations and theories that are used in that chapter. Mathematics is a subject that consists of various equations and theories within a single chapter. This can often lead to confusion and forgetfulness. Listing down equations and theories, chapter-wise and subject-wise will help you learn them quickly and more efficiently even if you forget one of the equations. It will also be a good habit to open the book where you have listed down all the equations before starting off with the preparation of that subject.
