CSAB 2021 Dates(out), Registration procedure, Documents, Seat allotment procedure

CSAB used to conduct counselling for NIT, IIIT and GFTI but they were not included in JOSAA counselling. Now CSAB only conducts counselling for a special round which is conducted after the completion of 6 rounds of JOSAA . This round is for vacant seats.

The Central Seat Allocation Board has released the CSAB 2021 schedule online. The CSAB 2021 schedule for the special round of seat allocation has been released at csab.nic.in. Interested candidates can participate in the special CSAB 2021 seat allotment by visiting the official website and registering for the seat allotment process. The CSAB 2021 registration window will be open from 28th to 30th November 2021 after the display of vacant seats after JoSAA counseling 2020 on 18th November 2021.

Moreover, the seats left vacant after all the round of JoSAA 2021 will be displayed by the authorities on 18 November 2021. Further, registration, payment of participation and choice filling will start on 28th November 2021.

  • The Round 1 of Display of Seat Allotment Result will be on 2 nd Dec 2021 (Thu) (17:00 hrs)
  • The last day for responding to query for Special Round 1 will be on 5 th Dec 2021 (Sun) Till 14:00 hrs
  • The Special Round 2 of Display of Seat Allotment Result will happen on 7 th Dec 2021 (Tue).
  • The reporting at the allotted institute, both in-person and online will begin on 7 th Dec 2021 (Tue) (12:00 hrs) To 9 th Dec 2021 (Thu) (12:00 hrs)

Central Seat Allocation Board will hold the counselling for admission through three channels – CSAB NEUT, Supernumerary, special rounds. Moreover, the registration procedure for CSAB NEUT has already begun from 9th November 2021.

CSAB 2021 Special Round Schedule

The Central Seat Allocation Board has announced the schedule for the CSAB Special Counselling Round for candidates who have attempted JEE Mains or JEE Advanced Exams. The schedule is as mentioned below, but the dates are subject to changes based on the circumstances at that given point in time.

CSAB Special Round 2021 Eligibility

All candidates who were eligible for JoSAA as per JEE Main 2021 Ranks will be eligible to participate in the CSAB special round as per the following eligibility norms:  

  • Candidates who have not registered in JoSAA till now but are eligible based on JEE Main 2021 ranks, will be eligible for participating in the CSAB special rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs) as per JoSAA 2021 / CSAB 2021 rules.
  • Those who participated in JoSAA and were allotted seats will also be eligible for participating in the Special Rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs).
  • Those who participated in JoSAA but did not get any seat will also be eligible for participating in the Special Rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs).
  • Candidates who participated in JoSAA and got a seat in an IIT will also be eligible for participating in the Special Rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs)

If a candidate fails to register for the special rounds from November 28 to 30, 2021, he/she will not be entertained for seat allotment. Candidates, who have opted“ Not to participate in the special round” at the time of reporting at the allotted institute, cannot register in CSAB special round.

 

THESE ARE THE PROCEDURE FOR CSAB 2021

  • FIRST- CSAB 2021 Registration

Once students have registered, they can fill in the details and upload the documents required. The documents as are necessary for CSAB slot allotment are as follows:

  1. Academic records (10th and 12th marks sheet)
  2. Category Certificate
  3. PwD Certificate (If applicable)
    • The candidates would have to select their choice of courses and colleges for admission based on their preference.
    • Once the candidate chooses their preferred course and college, they would not be allowed to make any more changes so they should select their option carefully.
    • The CSAB registration fee is Rs. 21000, which has to be paid online via the SBI portal, this includes a processing fee of Rs.2000.
    • CSAB fee refund: If the candidate wants a refund, they will get the amount back with a slight deduction of Rs 2000 or more.
  • SECOND- CSAB 2021 Registration Fee

The registration fee to participate in the CSAB 2021 special round counselling is as follows –

The candidate got a seat allotted in NIT+System in JoSAA rounds and paid the seat acceptance fee and Seat got Cancelled due to nonpayment of partial admission fee.

  • THIRD- Online choice filling and locking

Candidates who have successfully registered for CSAB special round and paid the application fee, can fill their choices for various vacant seats in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, if they are eligible as per their category. Fresh choices must be provided for the CSAB special round and the choices filled at the time of JoSAA counselling will not be considered.

  • FOURTH- CSAB special round seat allotment

Seat allocation will be done, on the basis of candidates' JEE Main score, for the seat left vacant after seven rounds of JoSAA counselling. All the admitted candidates after the last round (JoSAA seventh round) of JoSAA who did not participate in special rounds, will also be considered for category up-gradation against the same allotted choice.

  • FIFTH- Freeze/Float/Slide seats

Options accepted for CSAB Special round:

There are options provided to the candidates regarding the choice of program concerning the slot allocation. They are as follows:

  1. Freeze-Candidates accept the seat which is offered and does not wish to move to the second round. Since their decision is final, the candidates will NOT be considered in Special Round-II.
  2. Slide-Candidates accept the seat which is offered, but if they find a program with better choices within the same Institute, they will accept that particular choice. If they are not selected, they will choose the first option given to them. Such candidates will be considered in CSAB special round 2.
  3. Float-Candidates accept the seat which is offered, but if they find a program with better choices in any Institute, they will accept that particular choice. If they are not selected, they will choose the first option given to them. Such candidates will be considered in CSAB special round 2.
  4. Surrender and participate in the next round-Candidates reject the seat which is offered, and they wish to participate in the second round for better choices. Candidates accept the seat which is offered, but if they find a program with better opportunities in any Institute, they will accept that particular choice. The candidate will have no claim over the seat allotted to them in the first round, and they have the chance of moving to the 2nd round.
  5. Surrender and not participating in next round-Candidates reject the seat which is offered and withdraw themselves from the counselling process. They can not move to round 2 of counselling, and they do not have to select the first slot as well.
  • SIXTH- Payment of seat acceptance

After Seat allotment, candidates need to make a choice whether they wanted to accept the seat or not. However, candidates need to pay the fees if they select Freeze/ Slide/ Float. For paying the CSAB Seat Acceptance Fee, candidates must pay using SBI MOPS. Check the Application fee from the table below and pay it accordingly.

A Candidate who has SECURED ADMISSION (Paid PARTIAL ADMISSION FEE) at Allotted Institute through JoSAA rounds (NITs/ IIEST Shibpur/ IIITs/GFTIs) and has been allotted a new seat in Special Round-I, and wants to accept the seat. Nil (As such candidates have already deposited PARTIAL ADMISSION FEE). Nil (As such candidates have already deposited PARTIAL ADMISSION FEE).
  • SEVENTH- Reporting for seat confirmation   

Status of their verification will be reflected in the candidate’s login section. Physical reporting is not required for seat confirmation in round 1.

However, after the seat allotment result for round 2 is announced, shortlisted candidates will have to report at the allotted institute
