Things to remember in CSAB:
It has the authority to provide admissions for students in various engineering programmes of different institutes such as IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs. The admissions are mainly done on the basis of the JEE Main scores obtained by the candidates. You can prefer colleges on the basis of education quality, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity. This is where NIRF Rankings can be considered.
JoSAA is different from CSAB in terms of its admission counselling sessions. When JoSAA completes its admission process for seat filling in IITs, NITs and other colleges, it is time for CSAB. Then, CSAB conducts some special rounds of interviews to fill the vacant seats in those institutes.
Only the candidates registered will be considered for the CSAB 2020 seat allotment process. Candidates must remember that along with completing the CSAB 2020 registration and filling up the application form, they must also submit the requisite Participation/Processing Fee and participate in the choice filling process.
It has the following seat quotas:
There are 5% of seats reserved for female candidates under all the participating educational institutes. In many NITs, 50% of seats are reserved under Home State and the rest of them under Other State quotas
Apart from CSAB 2020 Counselling, another process called CSAB NEUT Counselling is conducted for candidates of North East and Union Territories who are allotted certain reserved seats.
Following five subjects will be used for calculation of 75% aggregate marks (65% marks for SC, ST, and PwD).
If there are multiple candidates with the same rank seeking admission to the same academic program? All the candidates will be given equal preference, in such a case. If required, supernumerary seats will be created.
If you haven't locked the choices before the last date, your last choices will be locked automatically and get submitted on final date, after the time for choice locking is completed.
Therefore, you should carefully complete the choice filling and locking within the specified dates.
It is a situation when a candidate has secured two seats. Suppose an aspirant has accepted an NIT Seat in the round 1 of the counselling process and has accepted a seat in another institute as well. He/ She must report to the institute that is considered an up-gradation. Failing to do so will result in the candidate losing all the seats.
It is very much possible to appear in more than one rank list. It depends on your category and physical disability status. It exists along with your performance in the entrance exam, there are chances that you may appear in more than one rank list and a maximum of four rank lists in each of JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams.
If the seat allotment process is completed finally, then the aspirants would not get back the amount. However, if no seat is allotted in a special round, then the applicants would get back the participation fee after deducting 1000 INR
